About the Artist: Bridget Punsalang
Bridget Punsalang has been a
self-taught henna artist for 8
years and quickly became one
of the finest henna artists in the
Chicago area. Now Bridget is
back home in the Capital Region
of New York!
She specializes in traditional
Indian and Arabic bridal mehndi,
and her incredibly detailed
designs are sought out by
brides and clients from all over
the country.
She has been a mentor to new
and experienced henna artists
throughout the U.S., regularly
attending conferences, and
teaching workshops. Her talents
are not limited bridal henna; she
can design almost any
traditional, contemporary, or
tattoo style motif.
8 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Bridget had been absolutely obsessed with henna ever since she first laid eyes on it, 8 years ago. She quickly looked
up as much information as she could about it - history, traditions, designs - and went to the local Pakistani store and
picked up a box of Indian henna powder and mixed it up according to directions from The Henna Page, and was
pleasantly surprised with her natural abilities. She was soon hennaing anyone and everyone who would sit still long
enough to let it set (including herself, her kids, and her husband). Over years of practice, learning, trying to absorb
and become inspired by other henna artists, and finding the best possible brands of professional quality imported
henna, Bridget has become the wonderfully detailed, steady-handed Mehndi artist that she is today.
She does all of her henna freehand, without stencils or transfers, and has a wide variety of patterns she brings to
every appointment for your inspiration and ideas.
Bridget specializes in Indian and Arabic style henna, and feels she does her best work with tiny lines and full coverage intricate motifs, but she is comfortable and experienced with any style henna that is requested of her, including, but not limited to:
Indian
Arabic
Khaleeji/ Gulf style
North African/ Moroccan
Tattoo style
Floral designs
Small and Large Motifs
